This is to advise non-school leavers who have applied and were shortlisted for the TVETSS Program of the deferral in the placement of intakes for the 2017 scholarship training year.

The deferral is caused by the recent review and redesign of the program. As a result of the review, negotiations are currently underway between DHERST and Training Providers both locally and overseas on the revised technical training framework that will be adopted in 2017 and beyond.

Upon completion of negotiations, training will commence with immediate placement of successful applicants in mid-2017.

DHERST regrets the delay and inconvenience but wishes to reassure applicants and stakeholders that as the TVETSSP is a national government sponsored initiative to improve higher technical education in PNG, it is committed to implementing the program from mid-2017 onwards.

For further enquiries, contact TVETSS Program Team on: (+675) 301 2008 /301 2009 /301 2046 or email TVETSS Project Manager: Stella-Marie.Martin@dherst.gov.pg or Nancy.Lucas@dherst.gov.pg
